He began working as a photographer in 2003 at La Voz de Galicia, after becoming interested in photojournalism during the ecological disaster of the Prestige oil spill. After working in institutional photography for the Galician government (Xunta de Galicia), he returned to daily press photography at Agencia EFE, where his images have been published in major international outlets through the European Pressphoto Agency (EPA). Since 2009, he has worked as a photographer for EL PAÍS in Galicia, combining this with international reporting for the same newspaper. He has received several awards for his coverage, including the “Full-Focus” award, which distinguishes the best photographs of the year according to Reuters (2013), and an honorable mention at “Estaçao Imagem” for an image taken aboard the humanitarian ship Aquarius (2019). He won the XXV Edition of Galicia en Foco and the Amanecer Award for Best Photography in 2021. He is a founding member of the Imaxecovidcollective.
